Ha Long Bay does not disappoint as a destination. It's a UNESCO site for a reason, and it delivers in stunning scenery that's truly unique. I only did a two day/one night cruise, but we were enchanted with the bay the entire time, even with mostly grey weather. As there are many boat companies operating in Ha Long Bay, I imagine there are just as many experiences as reflected in many of the reviews on here. I chose to splurge and take go with Paradise on the Luxury, and it was worth every penny. Excellent service, food and activities. We did three stops seeing caves, beach and sea grotto. There was the opportunity for kayaking as well as on board activities such as Tai Chi and cooking classes. But it was low pressure and ultimately all about the view. I've been to almost 80 countries, and Ha Long Bay ranks as one of the most outstanding natural things I've ever seen with the karst outcrops and islands stunning! I would definitely go back. Maybe next time, I will add an extra night!

My family and i have just returned from a trip covering Northern Vietnam and Cambodia, but we started out with 1 night and 2 day trip on a Paradise Luxury Boat in Halong Bay - excellent. Everything was good, the meet and greet, food, boarding, staff and the cabins were good. When booking we were not asked by our agent if we wanted a cabin with a balcony - so if you do book get request one with balcony - as it would have been good to sit there while cruising - but there is plenty of balcony space and deck space so it was not the end of the world. We really enjoyed it. I can certainly recommend it - for the 1 night 2 trip. The sights are tranquill and very pretty. well worth the trip.

We spent two days and one night on one of Paradise cruises luxury boats out of Halong Bay. They have different ships and we booked a deluxe junk and delux cabin with balcony and found ourselves on a small seven cabin boat where the cabins really were very luxurious with jacuzzi tub and seperate shower as well as its own small dining area. The food and service was excellent and the tours of the fishing village, pearl farm and caves very well organised. Be aware however if visiting the caves there are quite a few trick steps to access and egrees the caves themselves. Once inside there is little problem but just be aware that the steps are a little tricky for those with less mobility. A luxurious way of viewing the mystic Halong Bay

My husband and I booked a 2 day, 1 night Paradise cruise through Visit Wonders. We were picked up from our hotel at 8am and we were taken by minibus with aircon to the Paradise Bay cafe on the harbour (four hour drive), before boarding our cruise boat. We were welcomed and 'debriefed' in the dining room, then given our room keys. We then returned an hour later for a buffet lunch.

Accommodation: we had a dbl room with ensuite toilet/shower and a balcony. It was absolute luxury to take in the beautiful Halong Bay view from the table and chairs on our balcony. Spotlessly clean and a good size for a cabin.

Itinerary: on the first day was a trip to Surprise Cave which we skipped as we were still taking in the view from our room, a trip to a beach (which you could reach by kayak for a small hiring fee), a cookery demonstration on the top deck, happy hour drinks, a bbq dinner and a movie shown on the deck. The second day included a Tai Chi demonstration, a buffet breakfast, a visit to another cave, and then we returned to shore. All the activities were well-organised and fun, but there was nothing that interested us after dinner - we didn't want to watch the movie, and the squid fishing that had been mentioned previously never materialised. We ended up going back to our room at 9pm.

Staff: very friendly and efficient. During happy hour we got chatting to two staff members who were really nice and helpful.

Food: All food is included but drinks are extra. The quality is just Ok

Overall, we really enjoyed the entire experience. The boat itself was luxurious and well-run, the activities fun and well organised. A great way to see Halong Bay. The staff mentioned several times that we should have taken the two night tour, but the one night was enough for us - cruises are not our thing usually but this impressed us.

My 21 year old daughter and I recently (late November 2012) had the pleasure of taking a Paradise overnight cruise at Halong Bay. We could not have been more impressed with the itinerary, the level of comfort, the excellent food and the standard of service. The itinerary ticked along at a brisk but relaxing pace. From the tour of the caves to the cooking class on the upper deck to the early morning Tai Chi class (ok so we slept through it but we were told it was fabulous!!), everything was fabulous.

The food, seafood buffet lunch shortly after arrival, canapes with drinks for Happy Hour, five course dinner and buffet breakfast was fantastic. Our cabin was small but very comfortable and if we had been so inclined we could have happliy lazed in bed and watched the magnificent scenery of Halong Bay float by! All the Staff were friendly and efficient, and clearly well versed in customer satisfaction. Nothwithstanding the reasonably arduous journey from Hanoi and return, I could not fault this cruise and would not hesitate in doing it all over again when next we visit Vietnam.

We were a bit sceptical before going, but we are just back from Halong Bay & the 2days 1 Night cruise we had with Paradise Cruises, and it's a trip not to miss.
Paradise Cruises has several Vessels with different standard of services. We booked the Luxury Vessel (Peak is their Top, but not worth the higher price for what we have seen) & all was comfortable, with perfect service & very nice staff.
If we go back, we would definitely book the same Cruise.

Ensure to embark on a luxury cruise boat for 2 days / 1 night to take full advantage of the overwhelming environment of Halong Bay.
We choose for Paradise cruises and were really delighted with the quality of the boat/rooms/service/food/excursions .... just perfect

2 days / 1 night is just enough to get a good view of Halong bay.

Halong bay is one of the natural wonders of the world and a must see if visiting Vietnam. There seems to be a huge number of boat trips available but we can unreservedly recommend Paradise Luxury Cruise (Boat No. 4). This is a quality boat and from the moment we stepped on board we were treated like royalty by Edgar and his staff and crew. Our wonderful air-conditioned cabin (more like a suite) even came with our own private 2 person spa bath. A nice varied itinerary including visits to a large limestone cave, a walk up to the pagoda at the top of Titop island with a swim in the China sea to follow, a Vietnamese cooking class on board where we all produced some quality spring rolls, and a traditional boat ride through a cave into a hidden lagoon. The on-board cuisine was fabulous with a variety of both vietnamese and also other types of dishes. We were so impressed by this cruise and our biggest regret was that we did not aware that a 2 night option was available as one night was definitely not enough. We will certainly be back one day.

We had a wonderful time on the two day, one night cruise. The boat was clean, well appointed and as advertised in all respects (as usual in these cases, the rooms are smaller than the pictures would suggest. The excursions to the caves and beaches were great and well organized. Food was excellent, although I admit that the wine was overpriced and the wine by the glass was almost undrinkable. A few minor glitches. The undersink valve for hot water appeared to have been turned off, the switch on a bedside lamp was broken and it appears that the staff had not been advised about my wife's severe seafood allergy (once told, they made heroic efforts to deal with this issue).
